Travel Category
Travel images must express the feeling of a time and place, portray a land, its people, or a culture in its natural state. The Travel category has no geographical limitations.
Ultra close-ups which lose their identity, studio-type model shots, or photographic manipulations that misrepresent the true situation or alter the content of the image are unacceptable in the Travel category.
No elements may be moved, cloned, added, rearranged or combined. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. The removal or manipulation of colors contained within the original image to enable the production of monochrome images is permitted.
No special effect filters can be applied. Any sharpening must appear natural. Any items that are deleted (poles, wires, garbage, etc.) must have minimal impact on the image as a whole and not change the overall “truth” of the image.
An image (such as HDR) entered in this class must look like a “realistic” photograph and appear natural.
